Hive is a cloud-based project management and collaboration platform designed for fast-moving teams, especially in marketing, creative, operations, and agencies. Work is organized into workspaces, projects, and action cards (tasks) that can include assignees, due dates, subactions (subtasks), dependencies, attachments, comments, and custom fields.

Teams can switch between multiple project views on the same underlying data, including list, table, Kanban board, Gantt chart, timeline-style layouts, calendar, My Actions, portfolio, and summary views. This lets individuals choose the layout that suits their workflow while keeping project information in sync. Portfolio and dashboard views provide a high-level picture across projects with configurable widgets, filters, and analytics.

Hive includes core project management features such as task dependencies, milestones, project templates, and no-code automations. Workflow rules can update fields, move tasks, send notifications, and trigger follow-up work when conditions are met. Forms and shareable forms support structured work intake from internal teams or clients, while built-in proofing and approvals streamline review of creative assets, documents, and videos with version control and feedback tools.

Time management and resourcing are first-class capabilities. Native time tracking is available directly on action cards and via timesheets, so users can log and review time without leaving the platform. Resource management and resourcing tools help managers allocate people to projects, balance workloads, and understand capacity over time. Dashboards and Hive Analytics provide reporting on progress, activity, time spent, and other key metrics.

Collaboration features include native chat for direct and group messaging, Hive Mail for integrated email, and collaborative Notes for meeting agendas, minutes, and documentation that can be converted into tasks. External and client users can be invited with controlled access, enabling client portals and shared project spaces without exposing the entire workspace.

Hive’s Buzz and HiveMind AI capabilities layer generative AI across the platform. The AI assistant can draft and refine emails and content, summarize notes and updates, generate project plans and tasks from short prompts, and surface workspace insights to reduce manual admin work. AI is integrated into Notes, action cards, and email so teams can move from ideas to structured work more quickly.

Hive offers a free plan for small teams with light project management needs, plus Starter, Teams, and Enterprise tiers. The Free plan includes up to 10 workspace members, 200MB of storage, unlimited tasks and collaborative notes, core views, email integration, and chat. Paid plans unlock unlimited storage, more projects and users, advanced views like Gantt and portfolio, time tracking, resourcing, shareable forms, expanded automations, and enterprise-grade security and support. Hive is available on the web and via desktop and mobile apps for iOS and Android, and it provides a public API and integrations with tools such as Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and many others.
