Zoho Projects is a cloud-based project management platform from Zoho that helps teams plan work, track progress, and collaborate across projects. It supports traditional project structures with phases, milestones, task lists, tasks, and subtasks, and is aimed at small and midsize businesses as well as larger organizations that want an affordable but capable tool.
The product offers multiple ways to visualize work, including list views, drag-and-drop Kanban boards, Gantt charts, and calendar views. Gantt charts support four types of task dependencies, critical paths, baselines (on higher plans), and a project timeline Gantt for viewing schedules across longer periods. Teams can filter and create custom views to focus on particular projects, assignees, or statuses.
Zoho Projects includes comprehensive task management with subtasks, recurring tasks, custom statuses, and custom fields on premium plans. Time tracking is built in via timesheets, letting users log billable and non-billable hours and run approvals for timesheet entries. Integrations with Zoho Invoice and Zoho Books enable invoicing and cost tracking from logged time. Reporting and dashboards provide project and portfolio-level charts, workload reports, and task/issue analytics so teams can monitor progress, utilization, and bottlenecks.
Resource and workload management features help distribute work evenly, using a workload report to show who is under- or over-allocated. Client and external stakeholders can be added as client users with restricted permissions, giving them controlled access to project dashboards, tasks, issues, and documents without exposing internal configuration.
Zoho’s in-house AI, Zia, is embedded in Zoho Projects on eligible plans. Zia Search offers natural-language search across project data, while Zia Insights summarizes charts and reports into actionable insights. Zia Translate handles multilingual collaboration, and generative AI capabilities can rewrite or generate text for task descriptions, comments, and other content. Through the ChatGPT integration, teams can also generate tasks and recommendations from larger data sets.
Zoho Projects is available on the web and via native mobile apps for iOS and Android, enabling teams to manage tasks, log time, and collaborate while away from their desks. A public REST API and marketplace integrations connect Projects with tools like Zoho CRM, Zoho Desk, Zoho Analytics, Slack, GitHub, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, and others, making it easier to embed into existing workflows.
Pricing is offered as a free plan and two main paid tiers. The free plan supports a small team with limited projects and storage, while the Premium and Enterprise plans introduce unlimited projects, time tracking, advanced reporting, custom fields, resource management, and AI features.
